English translation
1. The Lord, our God, We live by You; Through years and ages, You are our refuge.
2. The mountains were not born, The earth was not created, You have always been God, Uncounted by years.
3. All people are dust, To You they are like drops of dew, When You say to them: return! They become people once again,
4. They are like grass blades That are blown by floods; They pass away like a dream That flees with the night.
5. They are like the morning dew, That vanishes with the sun; In the evening when it is sought It has dried up.
6. The pride of the arrogant Is seen by us, Lord, Our sins, Lord, Call for our punishment.
7. You expose them openly, You bring them to light, You see all things, even those That we hide from ourselves.
8. Our tears have gone, And our years have ended; The years we have counted Are seventy.
9 Oh! Teach us, Lord, To count our days Which are short and fleeting So that we may gain wisdom.
