English translation
It is Golgotha, it is Gethsemane, It is the garden of agony, Where I once found my soul's salvation, And my heart's deep humiliation. Who do I see in that garden there, Falling down in the dust and prayer, Suffering shame and rejection? It is the sin-bearer, The sinner's friend, Praying for sinners. Jesus, Jesus, have mercy on me, And hear my prayer! (bis)
