English translation

1. I am a traveler, I am on the road, I pass by, I journey on, Even though the road is difficult, I am heading home. Though darkness may be present, I may be troubled; Why should I worry? I am heading home.

2. Here I am in the kingdom of enemies, Armies surround me, They roar; I press on, I am heading home. Perhaps I lose heart, I am burdened, I cry; Even though it is dark and gloomy, I am heading home.

3. I am in trials every day, I suffer, I am troubled, I do not give up, I am heading home. Even if hunger kills me, I have crossed the valleys, I am weary, I am despised, I am heading home.

4. There is One who removes loneliness, Who helps me in trouble; I am not alone, I have Jesus, I am heading home. He protects me, He defends me, He saves me from traps; With peace I keep overcoming, I am heading home.

5. Soon all will be behind me, The things of the road, of today, Troubles and worries, I will arrive home. Oh, what joy it will be, When I see the Lord, The One who cleansed me, I have arrived home.
